Sharing Light Through Color

I love the act of revealing and concealing. Scraping back, painting over and scratching into a canvas. It is an intuitive process for me. My hand feels guided toward the next color and the brush shows me how it would like to dance. Each layer is a test of courage to move forward as each application of color, or even tint, has the potential to lose what is already apparent or merge and validate a maturity between the existing colors. I enjoy the element of waiting, to see how each layer affects the last and whether a resolution has been found or there is more layering to be done. It truly is a journey.

When the viewer resonates with a work, they have their own experience;  It is color that is speaking. I just provide the opportunity for communication. Working in color is a language I am still learning to speak.
