The Fog Series  began during my first Bay Area Winter and my first experience of fog. The weather reflected the way I felt on the inside as much as nature's season. 
I was feeling a little overwhelm at all the unknown in my world and retreated into a quiet contemplation for a time while I found my bearings. 
I simplified my palette and my tools. 
The works began by throwing down Pigment and Glaze on the canvas and then working with a palette knife, building layers over time. 
A  calligraphic marking reentered my work, although instead of a fine brush as in past work, I used pastel. It seemed softer.
The Fog Series speaks of introspection and being gentle with oneself while gathering energy for further exploration.
