I dropped off my entry to The MAC today. :) I was very pleased to see the lovely LauraLee Brott sitting at reception after her recent trip to NYC for her sister's photography exhibition. She looks after all membership and volunteer positions at The MAC amongst other things.
LauraLee is a smiling breath of fresh air every time I see her. That is one of the bonuses of being part of Group Shows such as the Annual, Membership Show at The MAC, you get to meet some wonderful, creative, friendly people. Hopefully some of those introductions turn into longer lasting friendships.
I met LauraLee @ the 2011 MAC Membership Show themed Meltdown, we had a great chat on the Opening night and continued, thanks to social media, to stay in touch. I highly recommend joining in Group Shows. They are a fabulous way to grow your network and support team. There are many artists busily working in the privacy of their own studio's, with fabulous idea's to share and Group Shows afford the opportunity to meet with them. Possibly even make new friendships, support one another's creative ventures and perhaps even share resources.
I entered my latest painting titled "Texas-TRANS-lated in the palette of the Australian Gum" this year.
I move house on the Opening Night day but am still going to try to get down there. It is always a wonderful event. Such a buzz created by all the artwork and artists. The MAC hosts so beautifully too, gorgeous food and drinks and music. So, hope to see you down there: Saturday 4th August, 5:30-7:30pm!
