Life has been more than chaotic this past month, so forgive me for not keeping up to date with my blog. We sold our home in Australia and bought a home here in the USA in the same week (a lot of paperwork I can tell you! ) and to top it off, we moved house the day before an overseas trip we planned and booked some months ago to New Zealand. So as you can imagine there hasn't been time for making Art.
In fact there hasn't actually been a studio set up to make it in...until this week! I have been itching to paint but there were many boxes to unpack and a family to settle into new surrounds so it has been 6 weeks without painting. When you are used to painting every day, that is a very long time without expression!
I am pleased to say I have returned to painting this past week and thought I would share a photo of the space I am currently working in. It is small but well ventilated and screened, which is important as Dallas is under siege from Mosquitos carrying the West Nile Virus!
The space is actually an enclosed porch leading off from the master bedroom. It is great to actually be part of the house and not in a garage! I have a door inside and one to the outside. So, what it lacks in terms of size it makes up for in ticking my wish list requirements.
Here's "Cheers" to many new works being made in the months to come!
